Previous Conservation: This painting had been previously restored. This included the removal of the discoloured varnish and the use of a composition lining where the original tacking margins were removed.
Following this treatment, the natural resin varnish became strongly discoloured.

Conservation treatment: This involved the removal of surface dirt and varnish, isolating varnish, retouching and the application of a final varnish. The frame was repaired and the painting resecured.
